"Imag-chia-ne"

Danelle and I share a dream.
We have never had luck before,
raising basil in winter.

Is the impossible,
possible?

Hope is realized in my Chia Herb Garden
and we may well be on our way to world peace.
Imagine all the people
living for today.
-- John Lennon

It's been brought to my attention, and I agree,
Secret Garden's song "Wick"
is more delightfully fitting for this post.

California, August 2011 - Journal entries 1, 2, 3 and 4

I know, I know, journal notes below do not capture
the adventure or excitement of cruising down Highway 1,
the beach at Santa Cruz, or the drive along the Redwood Forest.

If we haven't talked about our California visit in August 2011,
you'll see that we begin at the SFO airport, very smiling,
 and later approach the
"wierd, wacky, wild, wonderful
inflatable, flailing arm-guy"
who greeted us as near Santa Clara.
(when time permits, I will further translate)

Cleveland Browns vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

While Les and Bryan hosted
our New Year's Day gathering,
Erin and Jay, in Cabo
with 85 degrees, clear skies,
Patty and Jimmy delivered baked beans,
ribs, kraut, scalloped potatoes, corn,
carrot cake and apricot pie.

Tom made salad,
someone made cheesie potatoes,
Danelle, Jessica, Jess, Jace, Tricia, Sam,
and I ate until sugar
leaked from our ears.
We oinked out words
snarfing, sluggish, and laughing,
 celebrating together a new year.

Unlike Puppy Lou, Marley and Snickers
got no scraps from the table
yet happily pounced
and moved a lot quicker.

A big "Thank You!" to the Prandi Family,
Evan and Sierra
had a blast in Cleveland

strong winds blew,
rain turned to snow...
 brrrr

Meanwhile...

Jessica
all nestled
and snug
 in her steel curtain-rug,
biting her nails
'til the
Pittsburgh team won.

All is well
our Browns--
stir old-school memories of
 car-grrrr-diac kids.
Alas,
our tale concludes.
And
this season is done.
