Mo R. Bidity

We step back in time in our little town. To simpler things.

One never knows what one will see upon waking. Walking into the kitchen I reached for a mug for an early morning cup of coffee, rubbed sleepy eyes, and looked out the kitchen window. I had to look twice, not sure what I was seeing. The night darkness slowly lifting. What lies beyond the window is downright macabre. It is trapping season. WARNING:  if you love animals and are sensitive to their untimely deaths, I strongly recommended that you read no further.

Our neighbor  had a heaping pile of tiny carcasses lying in his yard after skinning their little fur bodies. I laughed out loud at the sight. I mean, who wouldn't?

Then, a few weeks later during hunting season, in a tree was a dead buck hanging antlers down from his little hind hooves. The following day, a dead doe joined the dead buck. They hung there a few days.  So hilariously unexpected.

But, oh, how does one blog such things tastefully?

Monkey ball bumper crop

Do not be fooled by the legend of
monkey balls
(commonly known as Osage Oranges)

Do they, in fact, repel spiders?

We placed them near entry ways--
examine evidence below.
Funny thing is...
this spider appeared two days after monkey ball was placed on the floor.
Photo is unretouched.
Snopes failed me.

What ruined Christmas 2007?

Test your memory. Can you guess what ruined Christmas?

Was it our Fat Bastard Christmas tree?

Was it Gammy almost choking to death?

Or, did it involve...
yule tide tonsil stones?

"The Book Thief"

One of the most powerful, excellent books I have ever read in my life.

Family reunion at Coppertop Restaurant in Valley City - no pictures, please.

Family members who attended were Patty, Jimmy, Danelle, Erin (who is Les' daughter), Bryan (who is Les' son), Uncle Jerry, Aunt Diane, Aunt Elaine, Uncle Ron, Auntie Donna, Uncle Karl, Cousin Yvonne, John, Gregory, Michelle, Charlie, Ryan, Uncle Dave, Aunt Angie, cousin Debrae and her partner Frank. It was quite fun. Oh, conversation got started when we heard Deb's daughter is at O.U. We said our older two kids went there, too. Frank played football at O.U. and then explained his super cool golf swing invention apparatus. We wish him and Deb the best! Also, they were recently filmed on Shark Tank. When we left we heard fireworks and Dad and I drove to find them. They were lovely!

Autumn in Medina County OH!

Black cat.
And Big Guy--sweet cat to the right of the pumpkin--blends in with the scenery.
Big Guy's nickname is Scaredy Cat.
Not only because his ears are smushed in and torn, giving him that look,
but lives in constant fear on how he lost one of his nine.

 Halloween!

This fella showed up today! He happens to be orange. And a kitty.
We named him
Stray-Starving-Orange-Kitty-With-White-Tabby-Spots

Except for, Dad and I really like the name,
New Kitty.
Autumn in Ohio...

Patty's spaghetti sauce and ketchup!

Spencer Lake Road trees beginning to turn.

I saw this shed and pavillion on Spencer Lake Road and HAD to take a pic.
On account of, it confused me, and I strangely began to crave red velvet cupcakes.

Yeah. This cat is so cool.
Her name is Cho.

The Wilds of Chatham

"Stonehenge. Hmm, not so mysterious," reflects an exhausted Diego to White Kitty.
"Right. All a matter of shifting matter,"
White Kitty replies telepathically.

Later Digsy Bear's tummy begins to growl,

finds himself fighting his strong animal urge.
Eyeing unsuspecting White Kitty,
animal nature wins outs and he decides,
The other white meat.
It's what's for dinner.

October 2, 2011 Homecoming and Gam Gam's 80th birthday!

One of the things moms love is when young people need them.
I was so happy to be asked to help Nicole do her hair for homecoming.
Being out of high school and a freshman in college,
Nicole was interested in doing something different, more mature.
I introduced the super fun and sophisticated style Sierra wore (below) for Jamie and Matt's wedding.

Poppet's beautiful do!

I had so much fun fixing Nicole's hair!

We listened to Coldplay's instrumental verson of "Fix You"
and Kanye West's "Power" while Nicole looked at the wedding pics.
We had a mini re-wedding celebration ooo-ing and ahhhh-ing everybodies pictures!
Nicole loved the beach wedding and Jamie's and Matt's smiles!
She liked Sierra's happy face, too.

 Beautiful Nicole!

Nadine and Adrian Rooy (a year ahead of Paula at Medina High), Grandpa Shel, (age 91)
 and Bob and Donna Norton.

A Jamie Berenstain Birthday in Santa Clara CA

A birthday greeting to Jamie.
(For relatives: In lieu of a birthday card, I made a coloring book for Jamie. I've added pictures to explain that Jamie and Matt were visiting Mike and Nikki for her 30th birthday. And to explain the hopscotch board.)
Family portrait

Jamie and Nikki made a hopscotch board
out of french fries and pickles
in honor of Sierra's college freshman chalk art
Therefore, inspired my coloring book version:
